Every successful club needs a team of highly skilled, expert internal coaches and umpires to ensure that their players are operating at their highest ability. At Palmers we are very lucky to have a team of both to support our players, that are not only dedicated to planning and facilitating demanding but enjoyable training sessions, but are also on hand to support on match days.

Head Coach – Vanna Dowell

Junior Coach – Gwenda Boniface

“A group of us set up Palmers Green Juniors to enable our daughters to play netball in 1996. A few years later I was also coaching the Seniors, helping the club to be in the first ever London & South East Regional League. I still occasionally coach the Seniors when needed, but mainly coach our U12s and U13s.

I’ve taken various coaching courses including the UKCC Level 2 and regularly attend England Netball safeguarding updates.”

We are reliant on our umpires to ensure our matches actually take place, and at Palmers we ensure we support all players that wish to become an umpire or a coach themselves. Both Lucy Turner and Zoey Dickson have mentored many budding umpires inside and outside the club through the years.

Our umpires currently include:

Lucy Turner – A award (umpiring mentor and assessor)

Zoey Dickson – A award (umpiring mentor)

Gwenda Boniface – B award (umpiring mentor and assessor)

Jacqueline Bramley – C award

Lindsay Sartori – C award

Clare Cowley – C award

Lindsay Enright – C award

We also have several others working towards their C award:

Ellie Watson

Nicole Greenaway

We always welcome new trainees, if anyone is interested, please contact the Club Secretary.
